In the previous week I mentioned that I was attending a course on research techniques and that over the next few weeks I would try and share some of the valuable knowledge that I learnt on this course. I mentioned that the course was being run by some very experienced and professional people, thus making their information very valuable.

Some of you might think that they are not interested in research and therefore whatever I have learnt on this course is only applicable to people in research. We are doomed to this; it is the curse on all our kind. Girls with curly hair want straight hair. People with brown eyes want blue eyes. Guys want their ex’s back when they see them with someone else. As soon as something leaves your grip, you are doomed to realize how much you liked holding onto it. And then to want to hold onto it once more. (more…)

Feeling the Change

Embracing Change

I feel like there is something wrong, deep inside myself, something has changed and become wrong. I can feel it; in the way that my hands shake more than they used to and in the way my head pounds. I can see it in the way I’ve lost weight, the way my face has become pale and marred by dark rings that now reside under my eyes. But the strongest feeling, the darkest one that I can’t seem to shake is the emptiness. I feel as if I’m going through my life one day at a time simply to waste it and wait for the next day to arrive. And the fact that I’m doing that makes me sad. (more…)
